The American walnut is particularly intense and dynamic in the processing of end grain wood and impresses with its excellent colour nuances. Known as a rather soft wood, it is ideal for high-quality knives. The vertical alignment of the grain results not only in a remarkable density and high quality, but also in increased resistance, with the force of the knife running parallel to the fibres during cutting.
