Minners cloth cotton

Originally, the miner’s cloth was used by pit workers to wipe away dust and sweat. It was also used to protect their meals, as no coal dust passed through the high weave density.

Today the miner’s cloth is an essential tool in the kitchen. More all-purpose tool than a simple tea towel. We use it as a potholder, as a drying cloth, as a salad spinner, as a doorstop, as a carrying aid for food or as a breathable cover for containers and pots.

In grippy and robust quality. Rough and robust, it is at the same time finely textured, soft and pleasant to the touch. Thanks to the high thread density, it absorbs moisture very well after the first few washes and has a remarkable lifespan.

The characteristic check pattern of the pit cloths looks very accurate and orderly on the one hand, and on the other hand, the strict grid efficiently covers even heavy sauce stains. Even after intensive shifts in the industrial kitchen, the cloth looks much cleaner than comparable plain-colored cloths.

As a routine, we still recommend washing the cloths once a week at 40-60°. Frequent washing also loosens the textile threads, which are initially still tightly twisted and thus absorb even more water.
